The short answer
Why I started GoldPaid
I kept seeing the same thing happen. Someone would take a drawer of old jewellery, a broken chain, a few odd earrings, something inherited, into a high-street buyer, and walk out with far less than the metal was actually worth. They were paying, without realising it, for the shop, the staff and the rates, out of what they were offered.
And it was not just the price. It was the experience: the pressure to decide on the spot, the vague "we'll give you this" with no working shown, the feeling of being slightly out of your depth in someone else's shop.
I thought there was a calmer, fairer way to do it. Run it as a postal specialist with no high-street premises, so more of the value can go to the customer. Test every item properly, by XRF, so the figure reflects what is genuinely there. Put everything in writing. And, the part that matters most to me, let people ask first, and decide later, with no obligation at all. That is GoldPaid.
How I run it
- Ask before you post. Send a photo on WhatsApp, ask anything. Nothing leaves your hands until you are ready, if ever.
- Show the working. Every item is XRF-assayed and weighed on calibrated scales, and you get a written, itemised breakdown, purity, weight, rate, figure, before you decide anything.
- No pressure, no games. No fake urgency, no countdown timers, no "today only". If the offer is not for you, you decline and your items come back free of charge, tracked and signed for.
- Be honest about the limits. If you have something a specialist might value above its metal content, a rare coin, a notable stone, I will tell you, even though it means you might not sell it to me.
Why postal, and not a shop
A shopfront is an overhead, and overheads come out of what a buyer can pay you. Running GoldPaid by post, across the whole UK, means I can keep the structure lean and the rate competitive, and it means you never have to travel, queue, or make a decision standing at a counter. You do everything from home, on your own time. For most people selling unwanted gold or silver, that is simply a better deal and a calmer one. You can see the full picture on how it works and postal versus high street.
An honest note
GoldPaid is not the biggest gold buyer in the UK, and I am not going to pretend otherwise. It is a small business that is still growing, which is exactly why I will not put up fake reviews or invented numbers to look bigger than I am. I would rather earn your trust the slow way: by being clear, being fair, and doing what I say I will do. If you want to see how the process actually works before you commit to anything, that is what the rest of this site is for, and you can always just ask.

Common questions
Is GoldPaid a real, owner-run business?
Yes. GoldPaid is founded and run by Rocco Clayfield, a small, focused UK business. It is not a chain or a faceless operation; there is a real person accountable for the service.
Can I speak to someone before I send anything?
Yes, and it is encouraged. Message GoldPaid on WhatsApp at 07375 071158, or call 07763 741067. You can ask questions and send photos for a quick indicative figure before you decide whether to post anything at all.
Why are there no customer reviews shown yet?
GoldPaid is a growing service and would rather show nothing than show anything it cannot stand behind. Genuine, unedited customer feedback will be published as it comes in, in the meantime, the process itself is fully documented across this site so you can judge it on its merits.
