Gold and silver are what we are known for. They are not all we buy. Ask first, send a photo on WhatsApp, request a free prepaid Royal Mail label, and get a no-obligation valuation. Paid by bank transfer once you accept. No shop visit needed.

Do you buy more than gold and silver?Yes. Alongside gold and silver, GoldPaid buys watches (old and new), coins, medals, medallions and stamps by post across the UK. We value them for you free of charge, make a no-obligation offer, and return everything free if you decline.

Ask before you post, always

You never have to commit to anything to start. Send a few clear photos on WhatsApp, or call, and tell us roughly what you have. You get an honest indication and a straight answer to any question before a single item leaves your hands. GoldPaid is a UK-wide postal buying service, so there is no shop to visit and no counter pressure.

What we buy

Watches, old and new

Vintage and modern, branded and unbranded, wristwatches and pocket watches, working or not. Solid gold and silver cases are valued for their metal as well as the watch itself. Send a photo of the dial, the back and any markings.

Coins

Collectable, commemorative and bullion coins, single pieces or whole collections. Pre-1947 and pre-1920 UK silver, sovereigns, crowns and world coins all welcome. A clear photo of both sides tells us a great deal.

Medals and medallions

Military, service and commemorative medals, single or as a full group, plus gold, silver and base-metal medallions and tokens. Named groups and original ribbons are worth keeping together, so photograph them as they are.

Stamps

Stamp collections, albums, loose lots and first-day covers. Photograph a few album pages and any catalogue or country focus, and we will tell you what is worth posting.

If a piece is solid gold or silver, we value the metal too. Not sure which it is? Our gold hallmark guide helps, or just send a photo and we will tell you.

Send it all in one parcel — one label, one written figure, every category valued by its own method. Gold and silver metal is priced against the published per-gram rate for the metal content in a written offer, applied to assayed purity and payable weight; watches, coins, medals and stamps are hand-valued individually and shown as their own lines on the same offer, so nothing is folded into a melt figure.

How we value your items

Watches, coins, medals, medallions and stamps are assessed individually, by hand, not by metal weight alone. We cannot honestly give a guaranteed figure before we see an item, which is why we always start with a photo and follow with a written offer once the items are in front of us. Final offers depend on inspection, condition, rarity, completeness and the current market. Where an item is solid gold or silver, that metal value is assessed as well using our in-house XRF analyser.

Posting safely

Every parcel travels by Royal Mail Special Delivery, tracked and signed for. Your parcel travels on Royal Mail Special Delivery, and Royal Mail cover may be available up to £2,500 depending on the postal method and cover level used. If your items are worth more than that cover, message us first and we will confirm the appropriate postal option before you post. Use a plain padded envelope and never write what is inside on the outside.

What happens if you decline

There is no obligation to sell. If you decline our offer, we return everything to you free of charge by tracked, signed-for Royal Mail, along with payment for anything you did decide to sell. No fee, no pressure.

Who this helps

People clearing a late relative’s collection, downsizing a lifetime of stamps or coins, selling an inherited watch, or sorting a house-clearance box of medals and odds and ends. If you are not sure whether something has value, a photo costs nothing and tells you straight away.

Common questions

Do you really buy more than gold and silver?

Yes. Gold and silver are our main trade, but we also buy watches (old and new), coins, medals, medallions and stamps. We value them for you free of charge and make a no-obligation offer.

How much are my items worth?

Watches, coins, medals, medallions and stamps are assessed individually, not by metal weight alone. We cannot give a guaranteed figure before we see them, so the honest first step is a photo on WhatsApp for an indication, then a written offer once we have inspected them. Final offers depend on inspection, condition, rarity, completeness and the current market.

Is there any charge for a valuation?

No. Valuations are free and there is no obligation to sell. If you decline our offer, we return everything to you free of charge by tracked, signed-for Royal Mail.

Do I have to send everything at once?

No. Send a photo of whatever you have, including mixed boxes and part collections, and we will tell you what is worth posting before you go to the Post Office.

Is it safe to post watches, coins and collections?

Yes.

Do you buy whole collections and house-clearance lots?

Yes. Whole coin or stamp collections, medal groups, watch boxes and mixed clearance lots are all welcome. Photograph the lot as it is and we will advise.

Not the question you had? The full GoldPaid FAQ covers the rest, from postal cover and ID checks to what happens if you decline the offer.

Request a prepaid label for watches, coins, medals or stamps

Two quick steps. The label arrives by email, usually within about 30 minutes during working hours. Requesting one commits you to nothing: you get a written offer after the XRF assay, and if you decline, your items come back to you free.

Two things worth knowing before you start, rather than after. Everyone sends a photo of a UK passport or driving licence, whatever the parcel is worth — it applies to every seller, so it is never a comment on you. And the parcel is handed in at a Post Office counter rather than dropped in a postbox: the receipt they give you is the proof of postage any compensation claim depends on.

Step 1: What are you sending, and how should the label arrive?

A rough description is plenty. This helps us confirm the right postal cover level before we issue the label. Skip if you would rather not say — the field is optional.

How would you like the label to arrive? Both are prepaid and both use Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed, so pick whichever is easier. The QR code is already selected because it needs no printer, and you can change your mind later — just message us before you post.

Choose how your prepaid label arrives

Step 2: Where do we send it?

Your label arrives by email whichever format you chose, so nothing is posted out to you. We need your address because it prints on the label itself, and because it is where anything you decline is returned. UK addresses only.

Needed so the label can be addressed to you.

Would you rather ask a question first, or send a photo? Message us on WhatsApp. It is the fastest way to get a sense of what something is worth before you post anything.
