About these terms
These terms govern the service provided by GoldPaid, a UK business owned and run by Rocco Clayfield. They are written in plain English as a clear summary of how the service works; GoldPaid recommends professional review before they are relied upon as a complete legal document. By asking for a valuation, requesting a prepaid label, or posting items to GoldPaid, you agree to these terms. These terms were last updated on 12 June 2026.
The service
- GoldPaid is a UK-wide postal buyer of gold, silver and platinum items. There is no shop or branch to visit.
- You may ask questions and send photos before posting. Any indication given from a photo is a quick indicative figure only and is not a binding offer.
- GoldPaid provides a prepaid Royal Mail Special Delivery label for you to send your items. You should keep your proof of postage receipt.
- On arrival, items are logged, weighed on calibrated scales and tested by XRF spectrometry. You receive a written, itemised offer.
Who can use the service
You must be at least 18 years old and resident in the United Kingdom to use the service. You may only send items that you own outright, or that you are authorised by the owner to sell.
The offer, acceptance and payment
The written offer is based on the confirmed purity and weight of your specific items and the live precious-metal market rate at the time of assessment. There is no obligation to accept. If you accept, ownership of the items passes to GoldPaid and payment is made by bank transfer (Faster Payments) to the account you provide. If you decline, your items are returned to you free of charge by tracked, insured Royal Mail post.
Changing your mind
You can change your mind at any point before you accept an offer, and your items are returned to you free of charge. Once you have accepted an offer and GoldPaid has paid you, the sale is complete and ownership has passed to GoldPaid.
Ownership and identity
You confirm that you own the items you send, or are authorised to sell them. As a precious-metals buyer, GoldPaid carries out proportionate identity and ownership checks in line with UK anti-money-laundering practice, and may decline to proceed where it is unable to satisfy those checks.
Postage, cover and risk
Parcels are sent on Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed. Your parcel is insured up to £2,500 via Royal Mail Special Delivery. You must not send a single parcel worth more than the cover arranged for it, if your items are worth more, contact GoldPaid before posting so a suitable approach can be arranged. Keep your proof of postage; it is required for any compensation claim. See the postage and insurance page.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Subject to that, GoldPaid’s liability in connection with the service is limited to the value of the items concerned. These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales.
Common questions
Is the photo valuation a binding offer?
No. Anything indicated from a photo is a quick indicative figure only. Your binding written offer is made after the items are weighed and XRF-assayed.
When does ownership of my items pass to GoldPaid?
Only if and when you accept the written offer. Until then the items remain yours, and if you decline they are returned to you free of charge.
