The short answer
If you decline, we return everything to you free of charge by tracked, signed-for Royal Mail Special Delivery. There is no assessment fee, no return postage charge, and no follow-up sales pressure. The valuation is genuinely no-obligation. You only sell if the written offer works for you.
Step by step, when you decline
- You receive your written offer. After your items are weighed and XRF-tested, we send an itemised offer. It is dated and holds for a limited time, because metal prices move; if it lapses before you decide, it is re-run at the day’s rate, and nobody chases you.
- You tell us no. A message on WhatsApp or a quick call is all it takes. You do not need to give a reason.
- We pack your items securely. Everything you sent is repacked carefully and kept identifiable as yours throughout. Your items are not pooled with anyone else’s.
- We post them back, tracked and signed for. Your return travels on tracked, signed-for Royal Mail Special Delivery, signed for on delivery. We send you the tracking details so you can follow the parcel home.
- That is the end of it. No fee is charged and there is no further contact unless you get back in touch.
Why we make declining this easy
A valuation is only meaningful if you are free to walk away from it. Building the return into the service, free, tracked and signed for, is what makes the offer honest. It also means you can compare our written, XRF-backed figure against anyone else with nothing to lose.

How your return is protected
Returns are sent the same way parcels come in to us: on tracked, signed-for Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed, and Royal Mail cover may be available up to £2,500 depending on the postal method and cover level used. Where the items going back are expected to exceed that, the return is split across more than one label, each with its own tracking number. Can I accept some items and decline others?
- You choose per line. A parcel might contain a plain 9ct chain you are happy to sell and a 22ct wedding band you decide to keep. Sell one, get the other back.
- Payment reflects the accepted lines only. The transfer figure is the sum of the items you said yes to, no more.
- The return is still free. Whether you decline one item or a dozen, the return travels on our tracked, signed-for label at our cost.
- Sensitive pieces should be flagged first. If a piece has sentimental value that might survive the offer, tell us on WhatsApp when you send photos and we will flag it on the written offer so it is easy to pick out at decision time.
If you accept instead
If the offer does work for you, simply accept and payment is made by bank transfer using Faster Payments, directly to your account, once you accept. Either way, the choice is entirely yours.

Does it cost anything to decline?

How are my items returned?
By tracked, signed-for Royal Mail Special Delivery, packed securely. You receive the tracking details so you can follow the parcel back to you, and a signature is required on delivery.
What if my returned items are worth more than £2,500?
Return cover works the same way as the journey to us. If your consignment arrived split across more than one parcel, it goes back the same way: each return parcel travels on its own tracked, signed-for label, and you receive every tracking number. Royal Mail cover may be available up to £2,500 depending on the postal method and cover level used, and GoldPaid can confirm the postal option used for the return.
How long do I have to decide?
The written offer is dated and holds for a limited time, because metal prices move; if it lapses before you decide, it is re-run at the day’s rate. There is no pressure, and we hold your items safely until you tell us your decision. If you need time to think or to compare, that is fine.
Will you keep contacting me if I say no?
No. If you decline, we arrange your return and that is the end of it. There is no follow-up sales pressure.
