You can ask as much as you like before anything is sent. Photos on WhatsApp give us enough to offer a quick indicative figure on your diamond jewellery, and we will tell you straight if something is not worth posting. Nothing moves until you say so.

If a piece has both precious metal and stones, both are valued, the metal by XRF assay and weight, the diamonds assessed in-house. You do not need to have anything removed or unmounted first.
How the diamonds are assessed
Diamonds are assessed in-house against the recognised factors, carat weight, cut, colour and clarity. Unlike metal, a diamond cannot be reduced to a single live "spot" figure: condition, certification and the specifics of the stone all matter. Your written offer accounts for the metal content and the stones separately, so you can see how the figure is built.
As with coins, if a stone appears to carry value as a piece in its own right beyond what we would offer, we will tell you honestly, a specialist may sometimes be the better route, and we would rather say so.
How selling works here
- Start on WhatsApp. A couple of clear photos of your diamond jewellery are enough for us to give you a quick indicative figure at no charge.
- Claim your free postage. We issue a prepaid, tracked, signed-for Royal Mail Special Delivery label, or a QR code for the Post Office.
- Post in your own time. Any padded envelope works, and there is no deadline to meet.
- Get a written valuation. Each item is weighed on calibrated scales and read by XRF spectrometry, and the itemised offer is sent to you in writing.
- Accept or walk away. Acceptance means payment by Faster Payments; declining means a free, fully tracked return.
How we value what you send

The precious-metal setting is weighed and XRF-assayed exactly as any other gold or platinum item. The diamonds are assessed separately in-house. Your written breakdown shows the metal value and the stone value so the offer is transparent. If a piece carries a maker, design or certification premium, that is flagged rather than absorbed.
Cover in transit
Royal Mail Special Delivery cover may be available up to £2,500 depending on the postal method and cover level used. The prepaid label is Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed: full tracking, a signature on delivery, arranged with that cover per parcel. Changing your mind is free

Common questions
Do I need a diamond certificate to sell?
No, though if you have a certificate (such as GIA or IGI), send a photo of it, as it helps. Without one, the stone is still assessed in-house. Loose stones and uncertificated diamonds are both accepted.
Should I have the diamonds removed from the setting first?
No. Send the piece intact. The metal and the stones are assessed separately without you having to unmount anything.
What if I decline the offer?
Your jewellery is returned to you free of charge by tracked, insured Royal Mail post. There is no fee for declining and no follow-up pressure.
