Bungay's 1794 castle token and its siege tunnels
Bungay Castle contains a unique surviving example of mining galleries, dug during the siege of the castle in 1174. The castle also appears on a Bungay halfpenny token of 1794, now in the Science Museum Group collection. The token shows Bigods Castle and a figure of Justice, was issued by the token collector Samuel Prentice, and was made in Birmingham.
The token is copper and 28mm across, so it is of interest to collectors rather than to anyone buying precious metal.

Do I need to clean or polish my gold before sending it?
No. Please send items as they are. Value comes from the weight and purity of the precious metal, not the shine, and gentle wear, tarnish or small repairs make no difference to a postal valuation. There is no need to remove stones or dismantle anything either; set stones and non-gold parts are simply accounted for separately.
